Kitchen & The Things They Put in Their Mouths

Happy Weekend! Both kids are napping and the house is clean - figured now is as good as it gets to snap a few pictures of the kitchen.  We have really loved our new countertops, backsplash and the window shelves.
And a quick story. At 1pm today (nap time for both kiddos) I could not find Elmo.  UH-OH.

I was frantically looking all over the house while Ashlyn "helped" me.  Chase was crawling around on the carpet.  I finally found Elmo next to the toilet (perhaps he is potty training instead of Ashlyn?).  I gave him to Ash and asked her to get in bed while I laid Chase down.

As soon as I picked Chase up, he started coughing.  And kept coughing.  Then the gagging started.  I started to panic because it sounded like he was choking but thankfully he threw up.

Sweet potatoes (all over the white duvet in his room) and a LEAF.  I guess it was on the floor and he ate it?

I'm loving those deep dark countertops combined with your new wall color! And you did a nice arrangement on those shelves...I especially like that pitcher up there. Glad Chase is okay...Mason likes to pull out threads from the carpet and gag on them too...gotta love the baby stage! :)

It looks great! And your story made me laugh. My son choked on a yogurt melt at lunch today and threw up at the restaurant because of it! Yucky!

Poor Chase and poor Mommy who has to clean the duvet cover! : ) At least you can bleach it if need be! I LOVE the kitchen!! Dark counter tops are the best! What did you end up deciding about the space over the fridge?

Aw man...those are always the moments when you're like "REALLY??? Right now??? Right here??? Oh, I mean, I'm really glad you're okay..." (c: I will never understand the putting everything in the mouth obsession with the little ones! But the kitchen looks absolutely glorious, my dear!!! So light and bright and fantastic...LOVE!
