Chase was diagnosed with the FLU on Wednesday.
And the answer is no. He did not have a flu shot.
I just couldn't bear to let him get ANOTHER shot in the midst of the seemingly millions of vaccines they get during their first few months of life.
His pediatrician announced that Chase was his first confirmed flu case of the year. Ummm...gee...thanks? Glad it was my kid.
He said his partner had only seen a couple of cases. Probably because all of the other good mothers who go to their practice got their kids vaccinated. Oops.

So glad he's starting to feel better! No one in our house is showing signs of the flu, maybe thanks to the Tamiflu Mia and I started taking yesterday! Haha.
I don't give my son (or myself) the flu shot either, for the same reason as you - I just can't bare to give him an extra vaccination!
Plus, the flu shot only protects against one strain of the flu, and there are so many strains, so I just don't see it being worth it. Just remind yourself of that - even if he had gotten the shot, he still could get the flu! You are not a bad Mommy!

Ahhh... the flu shot debate. I go through the back and forth every year. I don't usually give my children the flu shot either, then I feel guilty, then I am ok with it. Anyways, glad he is feeling better and don't feel bad!!
Aw, poor little guy! Don't beat yourself up too bad... if it's not the flu, then it's something else... we all got the Noro virus in December and that was terrible!
Ahhh boo to the flu! I didnt get the flu shot for Adelynn or I this year. No flu yet but we have both had colds a couple of times since Christmas. She is now sick again with bronchitis :( Poor little babies! PS...I saw that Chase is crawling! Big boy!!
