My sweet friend Kitty and her husband are in the process of adopting through DSS. You can read more of their story here. Since we are not sure the age or gender of their child yet, we decided on a "Storybook Adoption Shower". All of the guests were asked to bring their favorite children's book(s). We ate lots of delicious food and talked (a lot) and opened presents and prayed for our friend.
Lots of pictures to follow. You've been warned.
Upon arrival, everyone filled out labels to go inside their books.
This banner was printed from the handmade home. How cute, right? And the best part - IT WAS FREE! She has some adorable printables so be sure to pop over and check them out.
Ashley made the flowers to hang over the table.
For all of the paper decorations and labels, I used digital scrapbook paper ordered and downloaded from etsy for $3.50. I have never done that before, but it was so nice to be able to print exactly what I wanted.
Our sweet guest of honor, Kitty (on the right).
Chase got to hang with the ladies for a few minutes before he and his daddy got the boot.
From left to right, me, Kitty, Laurin & Ashley.
We love you, Kitty. So excited about your upcoming adoption!
